About the Journal

AMS Meteorological Monographs are thematic collections of peer-reviewed, original papers, survey articles, tribute volumes, and other materials in meteorology and closely related fields that do not otherwise appear in AMS Journals. Starting with Vol. 56, individual monograph articles are open access and are found below. Previous volumes are digitally archived and available through Springer Nature. Many monographs are in print and available at the AMS Bookstore, University of Chicago Press, Amazon, and elsewhere. More recent volumes are also available through print on demand. Learn More.

Notice: Normally, all AMS journal articles are freely available one year after publication date. As part of AMS's response to COVID-19, currently all AMS journal articles are freely available, effective 25 March through 30 September 2020. We hope this may be helpful to researchers and students and others in our communities who may have challenges with their usual access methods, as well as helpful to the librarians who serve them.
